Managing Contacts

Overview

Contacts are the people your workspace communicates with. You can create contacts one at a time, import them in bulk from a CSV file, search and filter your list, and keep contact records up to date.


Before you start

  • You need the view_contacts permission to see the Contacts section.
  • You need the manage_contacts permission to create, edit, import, or delete contacts.

How to view your contacts

  1. Click Contacts in the left sidebar.
  2. The page shows your full list of contacts with their name, phone number, and any tags or lists they belong to.
  3. Use the search bar at the top to find a contact by name or phone number — results update as you type.

Filtering contacts

You can narrow the list using two filters in the header:

Filter by tag

  1. Click the Tags dropdown.
  2. Tick one or more tag checkboxes to show only contacts with those tags.
  3. The tags you selected appear inline. If you select more than two, the rest are shown as “+N”.
  4. To remove all tag filters, click the Clear button inside the dropdown.

Filter by list

  1. Click the Lists dropdown.
  2. Tick one or more list checkboxes to show only contacts in those lists.
  3. To remove all list filters, click the Clear button inside the dropdown.

Both filters can be active at the same time.


How to create a contact

  1. Click the New contact button in the top-right area of the page.
  2. A form modal opens. Fill in the fields:
    • Full Name (required)
    • Phone Number (required) — include the country code (e.g., +212 for Morocco). A tooltip next to this field explains the expected format.
    • Email (optional)
    • Country Code — two-letter ISO code (e.g., MA, FR, US).
    • City (optional)
    • Notes — a freeform text area for any additional information.
  3. Click Create to save the contact, or Cancel to discard.

How to edit a contact

  1. Find the contact in the list.
  2. Click the Edit action (pencil icon or “Edit” link) on the contact’s row.
  3. The same form modal opens with the existing information pre-filled.
  4. Make your changes and click Update.

How to delete a contact

  1. Find the contact in the list.
  2. Click the Delete action on the contact’s row.
  3. A confirmation dialog will appear — click to confirm the deletion.

Warning: Deleting a contact is permanent and cannot be undone.


How to import contacts from a CSV file

Use this when you have a large number of contacts to add at once.

  1. Click the Import button in the top-right area of the page.
  2. An import modal opens.
  3. Either drag and drop your CSV file onto the upload area, or click to browse and select the file from your computer.
  4. The file must be in CSV format.
  5. A progress indicator will appear while the file is processed.
  6. Click Confirm to complete the import, or Cancel to close without importing.

Tips & things to know

  • Phone number format matters. Always include the country code with a “+” prefix (e.g., +33612345678 for France). If no country code is provided, the system may default to a country set in your workspace.
  • Tags and lists are not set during contact creation. After creating a contact, you can assign tags through the Tags section and add them to lists through the Lists section.
  • Pagination controls at the bottom of the contacts list let you move between pages when you have a large number of contacts.
  • You can combine the search bar and filters simultaneously — for example, search by name while filtering to a specific list.
