Creating and Launching Campaigns

Last updated on April 2, 2026

Overview

A campaign lets you send a single approved WhatsApp template to a group of contacts all at once. You use the campaign wizard to pick your sending number, audience, and message, then launch.

Before you start

All three must be in place before the campaign wizard will allow you to proceed through every step.

How to create a campaign

Open the campaign wizard

You can start in two ways:

  • Click Campaigns in the sidebar, then click the New campaign button.
  • From the dashboard, click the Start campaign quick action card.

The wizard opens with a progress bar at the top showing 6 steps and a step counter (e.g., “Step 1 of 6”).

Step 1 — Name your campaign

  • Campaign name — Enter a descriptive name for this campaign. This is for your internal reference only.
  • Description — Optionally add notes about the campaign’s purpose.

Click Next to continue.

Step 2 — Choose a WhatsApp number

The wizard lists all WhatsApp numbers that are currently in Ready status. Click the number you want to use as the sender for this campaign, then click Next to continue.

If no numbers appear, your workspace does not yet have a connected and ready number. Go to WhatsApp Numbers in the sidebar to set one up first.

Step 3 — Choose your audience

The wizard lists all contact lists that contain at least one contact. Click the list you want to send to — the number of contacts in the selected list is displayed. Click Next to continue.

If no lists appear, create a list and add contacts to it first.

Step 4 — Choose a message template

The wizard lists all message templates with Approved status. Click the template you want to send — a preview of the template content appears. Click Next to continue.

If no templates appear, you do not yet have an approved template. Go to Templates in the sidebar to create and submit one.

Step 5 — Review and launch

A summary screen shows everything you have selected:

  • Campaign name
  • Sending WhatsApp number
  • Target audience (list name and contact count)
  • Template preview

Review all details carefully. Use the Back button to go back and change anything. When you are ready, click the Launch button.

Step 6 — Campaign confirmed

A success screen appears with a checkmark and a confirmation message. Your campaign is now queued for sending.

From here you can:

  • Click the link to go back to the Campaigns list to monitor the campaign.
  • Start creating another campaign.

How to view your campaigns

  1. Click Campaigns in the left sidebar.
  2. The page lists all campaigns in your workspace.
  3. Each campaign card shows the campaign name, current status, creation date, and performance metrics.
  4. Use the pagination controls at the top and bottom to browse your campaign history.

Tips & things to know

  • You cannot change a campaign once it is launched. Double-check your template, number, and list on the review screen (Step 5) before clicking Launch.
  • The campaign wizard will not let you proceed if required items are missing. Steps 2, 3, and 4 only show items that are ready to use — if a dropdown or list appears empty, the prerequisite (connected number, populated list, or approved template) needs to be set up first.
  • Campaigns are workspace-wide. All team members with the view_campaigns permission can see every campaign.
  • There is no scheduling feature — campaigns launch immediately when you click Launch.
